Memories, both good and bad

[Lithuania is in a secluded room of the HQ sorting through an old looking box of some of his national keepsafes. Amongst them are various types of traditional dress and flags, some looking as if they might have been burned or taken to battle.

Right now, he's looking through some old Lithuanian newspaper clippings, about the Baltic Way 20 years

[ He was made independent too :D And he accidentally trips and falls out of the old reading room, a cloud of dust exploding around him as he drops his box of books. ]

[Coughs a little at the sudden dust cloud, getting up to see what the noise is, only to find a dusty Latvia on the floor, books everywhere.]

Latvia! Are you okay?? [Lithuania starts gathering his brothers books and placing them back in the box, dusting the dust off them.]

[ Whimpering a bit, ow there goes his nose, and he sits up, tears welling up in his eyes ]

D-Didn't see that step there...

[ Sniffing, he sneezes twice, before looking up apologetically at Liet ]

I f-found some picture books I wanted y-you and Estonia t-to have... but I mixed them up now...

[ If Liet glances into the books, he'll see that they're paintings and photos of their homes and them during happier days! ]

[Lithuania takes out a tissue from his pocket, handing it to the sneezing Latvia.]

It's okay... that's a big box, no wonder! As long as you're okay.

[At Latvia's words, Lithuania picks up one of the books, opening it to find lots of pictures of the Balts from the past, including paintings. He notices that none of them have that beaten, stressed look so common now and in the previous years and smiles sadly at this.

Looking through them some more, he starts to feel happier, they all had so many memories! And what a perfect day to find them~]

These are wonderful, Latvia! [He smiles at his brother, looking genuinely happy.] Has Estonia seen them yet?

[Quickly looks around to check that anything of value is put away and safe, before turning to look at Korea, still amiling.]

Mm! I found this box of old keepsafes... there's a lot of memories connected to these things...

[Another clipping catches his attention, about his recognition of independance in 1991. He places it on top of the others, making a mental note to perhaps put them in a folder some time.]

[ Snatches one of the photos of the Baltic Way and looks over it. ]

A-ah! [Hey, don't snatch! Lithuania turns to look at the photo Korea has, his smile not faultering as he sees what it is.]

Ah! That's from 1989... It was when Latvia, Estonia and I demonstrated a peaceful protest against the Soviet Union for our independence... It was amazing! So many people took part....

It really made a difference though... Six months after, I was the first to finally break free!

[Indeed, it was a proud day to be a Balt back then, and nothing is going to dim Lithuania's sense of national pride right now. Still, he speaks the last part much quietier, as if always on the listen out for Russia, knowing that he's around HQ somewhere.]

[ estonia walks in quietly, a small smile on his face. he remembers this special day, and it holds a special place in his heart. walking forward, he moves to stand by his brother's side, quietly announcing himself with a small cough ]

[ Looking up from where he's sorting out the pictures into albums, he beams when he sees Estonia ]

M-Mm! Come here, Estonia! Liet and I were j-just looking at pictures from then... heh, w-we've grown up a lot, huh?

[ estonia smiles even brighter and wanders over to his side. peering at the pictures, he smiles gently ]

We certainly have, haven't we...

[ his voice has a tone of nostalgia, but he seems to get over the mood quickly, lifting a hand to nudge his glasses up his nose ]

Mm... it's nice t-to be able to look at all these pictures and see our progress... Back then I was almost sure nothing would happen.

[ He smiles sadly, looking at a picture of them all holding hands... ]

We were going to come by, but it's good you ended up here yourself! What should we have for dinner today? It's a special day after all!
