I watch a snowflake softly fall

The storm’s fragile afterthought

And I wonder

Is the atmosphere spooning sugar

Into the bitter drink of the world?

Radiator

Like a sentinel you stand

Moored

Clicking, hissing, clanking

Protesting your man-made fever

Until you burn dry

And lose your fight to this cold night.
