Happy New Year

Do people make resolutions anymore or has the practice become so futile that no one bothers?  I was never big on them because a simple change of number on the calendar really isn't enough to spur me to do something I don't want to do, hehe.  Just for shits and giggles I suppose I will do a few.

1. Lose 20 lbs.  This is a conservative number since I  ( Read more... )

i think you have good resolutions... just best of luck keeping to them, lmao. if i did resolutions, i'd also go with your numbers one and four, lol. i don't write original fiction- i am very bad at character development, and i love fan fiction because everyone already knows who the people are... i mean, its one thing for them to evolve during a story, but its completely another for you to get the readers to get the feel of your characters, and that's what i suck at. i don't need to lose a person, but 40 pounds or so wouldn't kill me-- people always ask if im losing weight and don't believe me when i say no- its just that i lost like 20 pounds a couple years ago but i couldn't afford to continue eating healthy, because it really is so much more, and i suck at keeping with the exercise- though i do want to buy sweatin to the oldies because i remember that being fun, lol. oh, and i like your ecard.

After going crazy trying to hide from all those extra pounds and having them bushwhack me anyway, I joined Jenny Craig. the system works if I follow it. The main thing I learned was that I was enjoying way too much food per day. So I have a daily choice - eat less or weigh more. The holidays knocked me off track, but I really like weighing 15 pounds less (so far) so I'm hoping I'll be back on track now.

I need to finish the story that's been nagging on me for nearly a year, so we have have that in common. I haven't any plans to do original fiction; I'm writing for personal kicks, not for any future publishing aspirations. I've recently retired and just want to have fun now.

And I think you've nailed Mr. Dickhead, who has the sensitivity of a block of concrete. Number four will no doubt be useful to you.

No one's laughing at your resolutions at my house. Kinda tearing up, though, over my lengthy problem with my story...

I did Jenny Craig a few years back. I remember I lost about 10 lbs on it, but I get sick of eating the same things over and over very quickly. Overall, I really hate dieting. I don't eat badly, but I do sometimes eat too much. Though, my main problem right now is not having any time to work out. I also have some endocrine issues which don't help matters any ( ... )

I went off doing total Jenny Craig quickly because I too, got tired of the same dishes, although I go weekly and I do like their chocolate cheesecake *grin*. But the main thing I learned is that I need to eat just so much in a day or I'll gain weight. If I stay at or below 1200 calories I'll actually lose weight. It seems like a no-brainer until I meet a plate of shortbread. Then my willpower does battle with my taste buds. It's always a struggle. Why can't they invent food that has tastes great and has few or no calories? Splenda and Equal are NOT ENOUGH LOL.

I've trained myself to like aspartame and Splenda and health food does taste much better than it used to, but it's still sub-par.

In the game of genetic Russian roulette I didn't land on the right number and nothing's going to change that, so I can spend my time upset about it or accept it. Life's too short not to enjoy food!

They say juicy women have more nerve endings and better orgasms, anyway. So there. ;)

Happy New Year, my dear! I'm glad you've written out your resolutions, because it's giving me the motivation to do that myself, as I've been particularly reluctant to make the effort to post much these days... :P

Glad you found me though, and I look forward to reading more of your works! I'm actually having to write some original fiction/prose and poetry stuff as I'm applying to go to uni this year, doing Creative Writing combined with either English or Drama. It means some English Lit study, but oh well... This year feels like a particularly good one for me, though that might just me being uncharacteristically optimistic! :D

Also, I agree with your number 1, because I'm needing to finish my longer fics so I can be free to do others! It's so bad though; Lucius has me addicted!

Good luck with your resolutions (I'm sure I'll need some to keep with mine!) and I'll be seeing you around! xxx

He does that, doesn't he? My brain now tries to turn every plot bunny into something that involves Lucius. He's an attention whore.

Good luck with uni!

Ahaha! Lucius is definitely an attention whore! Not to mention a very delicious character, etc. etc. No wonder he's so arrogant. :P

And thanks about uni. I'm very excited! :D
