I'm also incredibly concerned. BUT... because No More John for me is kindof the exact same as NO MORE JOY AND TRUE LOVE AND SEXYTIMES left in the world... i'm trying to be positive.
We sortof know he's not dead, as in 'Sleepers' (originally 2x11) Helen says John has 'departed'... she doesn't classify him as dead like Watson and Griffin.
So either she succeeds in sending him off to god only knows where, or idk. He escapes or something.
Or being REALLY positive and seriously wearing rose-tinted glasses, at some point near the end of the episode something happens which somehow magically cures him and he's all better but guilt-ridden so goes off into the sunset. Or something.
Either way... i'm holding out all kinds of hope that he's back next season. In a big and hot way.
He's the most enigmatic character on the show, and by far one of the best actors they have. He can NOT just be relegated to playing Bigfoot.
Madness cured by sexytiems, y/y? ;) I know it was supposed to be one of those "Oh noes, Helen is in danger!" moments at the end there but my fangirl brain just went straight to a delightfully naughty fic sort of place... *blush* ;)
Thanks so much for sharing this! It seems like forever since we've had some yummy John goodness (er, so to speak ;) )! I'm with everybody else, I always enjoy Chris as Bigfoot but we NEED him as John, too! *nods firmly* ♥!
WAIT WHAT?! IT WAS?!?! All I was thinking was "Oh Good. He has a Key. For his Handcuffs. And the door is locked. Time for Porn." That just seems to be the intelligent response to this scenario! I don't even know why half of fandom seems to be banging on about HELEN BEING AT RISK from CRAZY CRAZY JOHN.
At risk of ENJOYING HERSELF perhaps!
Bigfoot is such a cause of lulz to me. I have no idea what they're trying to do with that character, because some episodes he's just lumbering around going "UGH ARGH OH UH ARGH?" and then the next episode he's a some sort of Surgical Consultant, and then the next he's surfing with Henry, then the next he's at Comic Con with Henry.
I just... don't even know.
Heyerdahl is their greatest asset in terms of acting ability, so howabout they say... oh I don't know... do something CRAZY and RASH and OUT THERE and give him some work to do.
Hee, that was totally my thought, too! I went right to my happy fangirl place. ;)
I agree about Bigfoot's rather -- shall we say? ;) -- inconsistent characterization. I love the way you put it: some episodes he's just lumbering around going "UGH ARGH OH UH ARGH?" and then the next episode he's a some sort of Surgical Consultant, and then the next he's surfing with Henry, then the next he's at Comic Con with Henry.I'm SO hoping that we see a lot more of John in the future, though I'm worried that if they don't put more of a limit on his teleporting abilities in some way, that they'll continue to resort to excluding him because he makes it too easy to solve The Problem of the Week. It definitely lowers the risk factor if you know he's available to, say, jump in and keep Helen from being sent to the loony bin or to rescue her out of a giant oil, uh, drilling thing (or whatever it was ;) ) that's otherwise inaccessible
( ... )
That's a fair point!! All through the Helen Might Be Crazy Lets Lock Her Up episode I couldn't figure out whether Druitt had a phone, and if he did, did someone have his number? Because that would CLEARLY be the opportune moment to drop him a line

The more I wait, the more wildly i'll start to speculate on it all. And I already have enough hopeful cracked up theories as it is. Gah!
