my friend is an architect, and i guess that extreme makeover home edition is notorious for installing things improperly, not allowing tiles time to set, basically rigging the house up so it can be "presentable" by the time the family comes back. realistically you cannot retile a bathroom in a day and expect to walk around on the tiles a few hours later.
lots of families who had the extreme home makeover had to put a LOT of money and time into fixing all the stuff that fell apart as soon as the cameras were gone.

i assume most of those families assume they're in anything but a position to complain
