Note: I borrowed the trail of arrows idea from the Richard Greene show The Adventures of Robin Hood. I've been wanting to use it here ever since I saw it in episode 1x03. :D

She had no idea what she really wanted here and just kept hoping her body and mind would find some hidden knowledge and continue responding in ways he seemed to agree with. But he was soon taking the lead and once more doing what he had done when she was above him so she had little need to think about what to do. Her hands came up to rest against his hair and within a few seconds a moan had left her lips.

This was all so new but she certainly appreciated it.

It was easy to get lost in this, the way Marian responded. Eventually, he moved down her stomach, loving the softness of her skin, and the way she still managed to smell so incredible despite living in the forest. He had no idea how it was possible for one woman to be so completely vital to him, but he would not argue it for the world.

They were both caught up in it by the time he reached the waistband of her trousers, but he was not so far caught up as to go any further-- unless she was amenable. Lifting his head so that he could gauge her expression, he let his fingers drift to the ties on the trousers.

Her eyes had not opened once since he started to kiss at her skin, too involved in every sensation he was starting up within her. She had never really felt this sort of thing before and she just wanted to keep focused on it so she could memorise every moment of it. One hand had ended up clutching at his shoulder so when he stopped it was even more noticeable. Frowning, she lifted her head and opened her eyes to look at him, ready to ask if something was wrong.

His hands were hovering over her breeches and her lip was chewed on for a second. Her eyes, however, were shining behind half-closed eyelids. Love, lust, curiosity, trust and excitement all there. Lifting her hand from his shoulder, she brushed her fingers along his cheek gently as she gave him a smile.

"I love you."

His lips curved up in a slow smile. He had not detected a hint of doubt on her face, and her words said more than a simple affirmation would have done. Dragging his lips back up her body, he kissed her deeply as he undid her laces and slipped his hand under the fabric.

He suddenly found himself uncharacteristically nervous, which was not something that had happened to him since he was younger. No one else had ever been so important, nor had he ever waited so long for someone. No one else had ever waited so long for him. While logically he knew that she was more affected when his fingers found her, he was not far behind, and let out a heavy breath.

Her arms wrapped around him as she responded to the kiss, her heart beating incredibly fast as she felt his fingers make quick work of the laces. If she had known waking up this morning that this was going to happen she would not have known what to think. But now that it was happening she would admit to feeling incredibly happy about it. Even more so when she felt him touch her somewhere no one else had ever touched her.

A short gasp left her lips as she arched a little against him. Her fingers were quick to dig into his shoulders, though not enough to cause him any damage, as her eyes fluttered closed. She had never known anything in the world to feel this good.

She felt incredible, and the ready way she responded was unbelievable-- and reassuring. Lowering his head, Robin leisurely ran his mouth over every exposed inch of her skin that he could reach. In addition to paying attention for things she particularly seemed to like, he also was making sure that she did not get too cold.

He knew what to do and when to do it, be it with his lips or his fingers, almost as if he knew her in this way already. Perhaps it was just because of how well they knew each other in general that meant they could read each other even better with this. And it would help in the long run. It didn't take long for his amazing movements to make her moan a little louder than she already had been, arching back before biting her lip hard as she shuddered a little.

That feeling...She had known nothing like that, the warmth in her stomach that had slowly been building up the entire time he had been touching her. Relaxing completely, her chest rising fast as she fought for air, she sighed softly and contentedly.

Robin smiled back at her, which turned into a grin when she seemed unable to find a good descriptor for what had just happened. He knew the feeling.

Having her push him onto his back was interesting, and he thought she was going to kiss him again, but then she was running a finger down his body. It was on the tip of his tongue to protest-- he did not expect anything in return, especially since she had never done anything like this before-- and yet, then she was swiftly unlacing his trousers, and he found himself bereft of speech. She stole his breath, as well, when she looked directly into his eyes as she took hold of him, though he could not breathe fast enough once she started moving her hand.

Any worries about whether or not she was doing this right were pushed away at his reaction at the first gentle movement of her hand. Her eyes came away from what her hand was doing to find his eyes once more and the look on his face shot fire right through her once more. Leaning down on her other arm, she let her fingers gently run down his nose as she continued her actions. It only took her a few strokes before she started to experiment with tempo and pressure, watching his face to see what he liked and what didn't make him make the delightful face she had noticed a few times.

All the while, her free fingers ran gently through his hair, over his forehead, nose, cheeks, lips. But her eyes were the only things that stayed in one place. On his face, watching the way his eyes darkened and his cheeks become a little more flustered. It was an image she really could get use to.

Marian's inquisitive strokes were so sensual, and the way she was watching him added to that even more than the caresses to his face. He ran the hand near to her up her arm, then wound around her neck to pull her down for a deep kiss. That only lasted until he had to break it off on a groan, but he kept her close, his arm around her waist.

As he felt the anticipation begin to build, he intended to move away at the end, but lost the choice when her grip changed in a new way which sent him unexpectedly over the edge. Once his heart was starting to approach something resembling normal again, he reached over and snagged one of the linen napkins to quickly clean up, taking a quick glance at her to make sure she was not taken aback.

She moved to kiss him quickly, but the kiss was far from a quick and fiery kiss. She kept it slow, part of her thinking that would be so much better for him however it didn't take him long to pull away again. She didn't move too far and not just because he held onto her. She didn't want to move away from him. After all, she was still learning and still unsure about what she could do. What he would like. All her knowledge came from overhearing servants and then trial and error now. "Hello." He matched his tone to hers, becoming concerned that she was regretting having done that. If she did, it would be on his head for not having stopped her, regardless of how much she would protest that. After tossing the napkin aside, he made quick work of relacing his trousers, then gave her a small smile.

She was so relaxed now that he certainly seemed happy enough with what had just happened. And she was so incredibly glad that everything was all right between them after that. She had not intended on it this morning but now that they had taken such a step with each other it finally hit her that she had been ready for this longer than she thought. All those times, even when she was a teenager, where she felt something. Something she couldn't quite explain, but just knew she had to tackle. And now she finally found out what that feeling was. She felt so relieved and content, like some sort of coil within her had been stretched and released her from a hidden ache.
