Was just reading some more of the Overrated Foods lists. Won't be doing one of my own, don't do lists etc. But....(heh! she buckles) I thought about lobster and how I used to like it. Then back on hM, a life time ago, someone posted a long diatribe on how lobsters are really just insects. Giant ugly oversized bugs of the sea. bleah. Haven'

lobster is okay...but it's just too damned expensive for a incect, you know?

It's crab season here, and they are CHEAP. I think crab is too much work, but for the prices they are right now, I might have to figure out how to eat them

I've never liked crustaceans because they looked too much like bugs to me. Then in college zoology I learned just how closely related they are and I swore off them for good.
But molluscs...I'll eat those anytime :)

I think lobster is over rated, unless it is in a creamy buttery bisque. But the bug thing doesn't really bother me. Do you know that big black ants taste like lemon drops?

and the little ones like sweet tarts! i learned that in required fifth grade wildnerness education, apparently because many kids in our school district got lost in the wilderness

I've said this to livsmama before- I don't eat any animal parts that would talk if they were a cartoon, so heck no i don't want anything with eyes on my plate thank you!

just had lobster last night. but it was only the tail...and it wasn't as good as i remember it being. it wasn't bad, but the crab was better!
