But then I got a phone call and now this is my "My mother was in a car accident and she's fine but that was the scariest fucking afternoon of my life." post.

She was on holiday down the coast and was driving

It was a bad day, but everything is fine. She was less scared than me - nurses are unflappable. Kept trying to take the neck brace off.

It's actually the speed limit on the section of the highway - the 'suggested limits' for the bends are around 40 k/h, but a lot of idiots ignore those.
