[ Rise's actual response takes place a few hours AFTER the fog's receded, because she was in no condition to be calling anybody on that last day/night. However, she started catching up as quickly as she could, and Heather's... very garbled horror got through. The warrants and reports also helped. But instead of leaving a short message, this time-- ]

Heather? It's Rise.

[ her voice is a little hoarse, but concern's overpowering a sore throat. ]

I don't know what happened, but I'm sorry I couldn't be there. But I'm sure you're okay. And if you're not, you will be-- because it's you.

So you'd better be, you got that? We've got a lot of catching up to do!

Absolutely!

I may need to let her, y'know, get a little cleaned up before she runs into him (she's not gonna be in great shape when she first shows up), but we can get started in a week regardless.
