Internal Monologue

I really don't like how I end up back in this place whenever something serious is going on. *plops down onto a couch and slowly sinks in, letting his head fall to rest on the back of the couch. A hand comes up to rub at his head.*

I don't want time to think about this...

Ali (as promised), just happens to be wandering through the Nexus right then, carrying a box full of strawberries and who knows what else. Seeing Ichigo looking mopey, she invites herself to sit down on the other end of the sofa from him, box in her lap. She doesn't say anything right away, instead plucking a particularly plump strawberry out and curling the leaves back from the flesh.

And then she holds it out. "Ichigo?"

*totally zoned out and staring off at nothing in particular*

"I~chigo, wake up and help me eat these lovely strawberries." She pokes his cheek with a fingertip, then, presuming her finger isn't bitten off, goes back to offering him the strawberry.

*is poked and jumps* Aaaa! What the-

Oh.... *a sigh* Alison... *looks at strawberry and twitches*

*feels the slight nudge and lets out a long sigh* ...I just jumped in without thinking again...

"Heroes tend to do that." She glances over at him sympathetically. "Where'd you land?"

*almost snorts at 'Hero'* Nowhere bad at first... but it didn't stay that way...

"You wouldn't be upset if it weren't bad," she points out.

Guess not... *sighs and now leaning back against the couch*

Why the hell shouldn't they?!

She sighs. "I didn't ask if they should. I ask if they do."

"Then you shouldn't blame yourself, either. You did what you thought was best, and when your actions had unintended consequences you decided to do everything you could to deal with them. You haven't done anything wrong."

D< *opens mouth* >\ *closes mouth* Doesn't change the fact everyone's in danger because of me.... again...

Yeah, guess who's lounging on one of the nearby couches.

"Still having trouble off-Nexus, hmm?" Her tone implies that he doesn't need to elaborate if he does.
