Summary: Each parting is its own little explosion.
Author's Notes: With this one, I set myself a challenge within a challenge: to keep my ramblings under control. Hence, I bring you 100 words of angst from my variation on the history of "Five Years Gone." For
heroes15.
Mohinder remembers three years ago: the bomb, the flash assaulting the helicopter from all angles. This, the morning sun searing his watering eyes, is just as shattering.
"I can't do this anymore, and neither can you," Peter had said, just before dawn, a truth as harsh as the light streaming around his silhouette now. He wants more anyway, as keenly as when they claim each other with fevered breath and bodies, and he knows Peter does too.
But Peter is walking away in a blaze of sunlight, and the image burning into Mohinder's mind is another explosion of his world.
(A/N: Yes, I know solar energy is fusion. This, sadly, is not.)
