Lemon & Passionfruit Sponge Cake

A birthday cake for my lovely friend Sarah. Recipe comes from the wonderful Jennifer Graham's The Crabapple Bakery Cupcake Cookbook.

Unfortunately I was quite short on time while decorating, so nothing's as smooth or polished as I'd like. Hopefully it still tastes great, though!

This is the kind of decorative cake I would love to have. I don't want something made of rice crispies and covered in fondant. Your cake looks so pretty and unique. Well done!

I know what you mean, though - I oooh and ahhh over fondant cakes (because they really can look spectacular), but nothing will ever beat regular old fashioned cake for me!
