eggs and soldiers is so good and a big comfort food for me as well. I love this twist on it with the asparagus. They look so green and delicious in this picture too.

:o) Have seen it on TV quite a few times so I thought I try it. The egg could have been a bit runnier but I'd lost track of time. It was still runny enough to stick to the asparagus, thankfully.
I'm lucky to have an excellent greengrocer 5 minutes walk from my house (and an equally excellent butcher).
The stalks became soup this evening. :o)
