mmm I love home-made tortillas. In fact, I don't tend to like corn tortilla (usually go with flour), but when I was in Mexico I had some fabulous home-made corn ones and I am now a big fan. Thanks for this post!

My grandmother was from New Mexico and I grew up with homemade flour tortillas. Such a very different experience. Occasionally I'll get the flour masa and make some.

Mmm homemade tortillas. I work in an upscale restaurant and we have hand-made tortillas for one of our appetizers. It's so yummy!

i tell ya, I miss that food when I travel too. I take it for granted when im in Texas, but as soon as I leave I realize how much I eat that kind of cooking and miss it.

good writeup! i love making tortillas, we have a press now which makes things super easy, but i still have fond memories of making them with a pot like you did, with my grandmother as a child.
