For those who care about such things, it's Super Bowl Sunday this weekend, and SBS is synonymous with dip, usually of the 5- or 7-layer variety. Okay this might sound weird, but that is one of the prettiest 7 layer dips I've seen heheh.

Point of nutrition - that dip is actually quite healthy. If you're worried about fat, you can use fat free refried beans and use a thinner layer of sour cream.

...unless you do what my exhusband would do and use insane amounts of cheese, but that's a different story.

I still need to figure out how in the blazes my grandmother managed to get it on a plate with a vaguely pyramid type shape, without spreading out. Every time I ask her, she just laughs at me and looks smug. :-p

Do you think she has a pyramid shaped bowl that she lined with foil and filled in reverse allowing the contents to pack down, froze and then unmolded onto a plate? At room temperature it would thaw slowly and retain its shape for quite I while, I'd guess.

Totally true! If you used fat-free or low-fat sour cream that would lower the fat content even more. And if you omitted the cheese on top of that, most of the fat would be coming from the olives and avocados, which are good fats.
