I think that technically it's a vegetable... although I don't know if there's a special category for things you eat stalks of like rhubarb and celery... hm, something to look into!
You get two rhubarb seasons, one in winter for forced and one... some time in the summer for outside grown, I just pick it when it grows, never paid much attention to when!
If you're after rhubarb in the uk then I've been told that Morrisons expects it in but I find your best bet is any local market, although that can be costlier if you're not canny about it. The first lot I bought cost double the second as I was in a rush and didn't shop about. But even the expensive stuff was so very very worth it!
Mmm, ta. I'll have to check Cardiff market tomorrow afternoon. I don't live near anything bigger than the metro versions of Sainsburys and Tesco, haha, but I could just do a rhubarb crumble right about now. mmmm mmm
I only wish I had more rhubarb, the plants we have never seem to manage to grow quite enough for my tastes but they do their best, I just love the stuff!

Oh yeah, it's like celery! It's probably maybe a vegetable... Fruits are things that have seeds or something, that's why tomatoes are, right? @__@

I guess from a cooking stand point, rhubarb is a veggie.

My aunt told me it was out of season! And she lives in Yorkshire!
