I've always liked the idea behind Panera but find their food to be really disappointing.

What's in that salad?

The salad has citrus-herb chicken, mixed field greens, romaine lettuce, vine-ripened tomatoes, red onions, pecans, Gorgonzola, apple chips & white balsamic apple vinaigrette. It was sweet and crunchy. :)

The Mediterranean veggie sandwich I had was so tasty!! Have you tried that? It has zesty piquant peppers, feta cheese, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and cilantro hummus on Tomato Basil bread. Mmmmm.....

Nice.
I like recreating salads, sandwiches and soups at home :)

Oooh that actually sounds delicious. I'd have to substitute other veggies for the tomatoes & onions though, as I'm a vegetarian allergic to just those two. Go figure! But I'm sure they'd modify it somehow. I may give Panera another try and if I'm still disappointed, I will recreate things at home. Thanks!

I've had horrible luck at Panera....I'm talking lady bugs in my salad and my husband had a fly in his soup. Needless to say we haven't eaten there in many a moon...

Oh wow. I'm sorry to hear that! Have you experienced this at multiple Panera Bread locations?

The name "Panera Bread" translates to "A time for bread."

The Spanish translation is bread basket/bread bin.
In latin "Pan" means bread, and "era" as in time.

I've been reading quite a bit about it. ^_^
