I don't like grapes. They just feel wrong in my mouth and don't taste particularly good. I absolute cannot stand wine; it's horrid. Only thing I know about wine is that the worse it tastes, the better the vintage. Between you, me, and whoever else may be reading this...I think it can be safely assumed that raisins fell out of some unknown circle of ( Read more... )

grapes, raisins, wine

LOL. Interesting! I don't like grape juice, wine, or raisins. But I love grapes. The reverse logic of yours?

I have a coworker who cannot stand hot dogs, the mere thought of them makes her gag.

Give her a corn dog, however, and she's all over them.

Very confusing, with no real logic to justify the thought processes. But it sure does make for awesome conversation starters. :)

I'm similar with tomatoes, which I don't like, and pasta sauce or ketchup too.

Easy answer - they're all different kinds of grapes. If you like grape juice, then try eating a concord grape sometime. You still may not like the texture, and they have seeds which are annoying, but you'll probably love the flavor because they're what most grape juice is made from.

Commenting to add: Go to the woods, look at the bushes/brush for vines with big spade shaped yellow/brown leaves and smoky purplish things about the size of a dime that look like grapes. Those are wild Concord grapes and they taste nothing like any other grape one would find in the grocery store. Just watch your teeth on the seeds. Great for jam and homemade grape juice too.

I love grapes. Grape juice and I have a bad relationship because I puked up purely purple grape juice once when my mom made me go to school because she didn't believe I was sick. I don't like raisins because I just don't eat shriveled fruits and I'm not really fond of any alcohol, but wine is quite nasty.

I cannot eat a banana without gagging, but I love banana bread.

I don't like amaretto either!

I just don't like nuts, m'self. Raw, roasted or added to a recipe. Anything where nuts can be left out? Get left out and otherwise enjoyed.
Except Amaretto. That's the only nut-product I enjoy.

See I'm happy to eat Reese's Pieces, or peanut satay sauce, but I absolutely hate nuts by themselves. But I argue that's because real nuts taste like wood to me..
