There have been numerous posts asking, "What can I cook when it's hot?"
The New York Times
has some suggestions. Granted, a few of them are hardly practical ("Boil a lobster. Serve with lemon or melted butter.") but most of them are really very good ideas, for hot weather or anytime you can't be bothered to make a more elaborate meal.

the thing about most of those recipes is they involve boiling water. if i bring my stockpot of water to the boil to make pasta, i've increased the temperature of my kitchen and living room by 10 degrees. it's a little inconvenient. like, even if i wanted broiled mackerel, no way am i preheating my oven to 425 during the months of july and august, ya know?

The food ideas are really neat though, well worth remembering for cooler temperatures.

Someone's also asked if the TIMES would print the whole article up as a poster. I'd be down with that myself.
