Starbuck on the original BSG was my first fanfic inspiration. I was 14 years old and just adored him, so of course I had to write fics where he got beat up, shot, went missing, etc., while Apollo worried and went hunting and did everything else best friends do. Thank God the internet didn't exist back then, because those stories were godawful ( ... )

Unfortunately I have never seen the original series but it sounds very interesting! :)

It's definitely worth a look - lots of great characters, and it's not as grim or "gray" as the reboot. It's very "1978", though, so you have to look past a lot of feathered hair and velour! But it was a lot of fun and like I said, Apollo and Starbuck were very cute. :3
