As you might have gathered, life at the Admiralty is somewhat trying and time consuming these days, so apologies for being an even slacker Mod than usual of late. (Hard to imagine it would be possible I know!) As there's little likelihood of me getting a more promising command in the short term, I'd like to encourage the whole crew to pitch in

I don't know what has come over me, I seem to have hit a dry spell. But I think it is coming to an end. I will not hesitate to inflict the results on all of you ASAP,

Sure hope the rest of the community doesn't mind the occasional post from my own AOS/Sci-fi stuff. After all, I was inspired to write it after reading Hornblower! (And some may remember that I had originally planned to include HH as a minor character in the Stone Island Sea Stories. That idea fell through when I could not get permission from the CSF estate to include him. For any one who has read Beyond the Ocean's Edge or Sailing Dangerous Waters, that spot was taken by Leonard Rowley.

If I could figure out a way to do an international Hornblower-themed Treasure Hunt I so would, but the means to do so still escapes me. Which is not particularly helpful of me.

That would be beyond awesome! Even if such a thing is impossible, the very idea is delightful! :)

Actually I wonder if it would be possible? Perhaps if folk had to find three things associated with, or related to Hornblower and then post pictures of their treasures? Hmmmm....definitely worth thinking about....

I think maybe it would be, with a little careful thought. Those of us in Britain do tend to have more of an advantage for finding Hornblower-related stuff, and we'd have to think about travel distances and things... I'm certain there must be a way to make it work.

Ooh. I like the sound of that. We could have prizes afterward! Maybe small bits of writing or drawing for prizes.
