It completely slipped by me as well. For Age of Sail folks 21 October is a double day---Trafalgar and the launching of USS Constitution (Old Ironsides). First reminder I had was something on the Constitution Museums web site (Log Lines) about where the Constitution was during the battle. One version had it that she had been pursued by the British fleet, having been mistaken for a French frigate, and that she had quite openly disclosed info about the combined French and Spanish Fleet. Reality indicates that she was in Leghorn (Liverno) at the time. This year I had a doctor's appointment scheduled for that day, and perhaps preoccupation with that took my mind away from a date I usually remember. (Doctor's visit went fine... condition hasn't changed and I'll get seen again in 6 mos.)
