I never noticed this before, but that rating standing right behind Archie in picture #4 can't be looking at anything except the back of Archie's hat! And he doesn't look happy about it either...
Thanks for posting this! :-) I still remember when I went to a Hornblower gathering in Chicago in 2000, it was Tall Ships week, and we all took a sail on a tall ship. There were about 40 of us, and we all got baseball caps with "HH2000" embroidered on them. One of our number was a very big Pellew fan, and at one point she stood at the stern and delivered Pellew's speech, and we all cheered and waved our baseball caps on cue! It was awesome. :-)
such wonderful pictures - thank you for putting them up - I love those moments all of them.Ned starting as he means to go on and lviing up to the legend as it were Horatio star struck already ...or as Nicky P wrote home of his own first cruize:
"I hope you will forgive this horrid scrawl but I am so overjoyed I know not what to do .We fear not while we have this brave commander Sir Edward. "
and Archie, still glowingly happy at their good fortune and his escape but with a lovely air of one who sees the act and recognises exactly what Ned is trying to do ...
grand set of pics and a grand moment- do hope you will write it from the boys'pov too when chance arises
:-) Well, you know the character names at any rate! There's some speculation that Ioan would make a great new suitor for "you know who", which I agree with but who knows if he's in the running? Guess we'll see!
