Horatio's worst travel experience?
Thanks to ioanite for bringing this to my attention last week....Ioan Gruffudd recently gave a short interview for the Independent newspaper's My Life in Travel column and there's a small reference to Hornblower, though not an entirely positive one!
Worst travel experience?
Travelling to Yalta in Ukraine to shoot the first series of Horatio Hornblower in 1996. We flew to Kiev, then there was an internal flight and a three-hour drive - it was the furthest I'd felt from home and my heart just sank as the journey continued.
Oh dear, poor Ioan! And judging from Andrew Tiernan's cast pics*, their accommodation was none to salubrious either. Never mind though, look who was there to keep him company ;)
* Damn. I've just discovered that Andrew Tiernan's site has vanished and very little of it appears to have been archived so most of the cast pics have gone apart from the ones I saved here :( Did anyone else save any of the other pics?
