It was her husband's birthday. Though Stark and John had celebrated birthdays together before, this was their first time celebrating either of their birthdays as a couple. So she thought it was important. She had gone and bought him something, and then she wanted to do something to celebrate

He slipped down into the kitchen and stopped leaning in the doorway watching his wife. He couldn't help the smile on his face at the care she was taking for his birthday, he knew it was special. Their first as a married couple and he understood the need to make it special. He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her. "Morning baby."

"Oh hi sweetie. I was going to let you sleep." She stopped what she was doing then and just nuzzled gently against his arm. She knew he was feeling his age and was trying not to bring it up. "Did you sleep well? I'll be done with this in a little while."

"I slept really well baby. This all for me?" He smiled gently.

"Of course it is John. It's your birthday." She smiled at him as she found a place where she could stop and put everything down. "I told you that I wanted to do something special for your birthday. So I'm trying." A small laugh. "The little one is getting in the way."
