I think the last major disagreement of that magnitude I had with my mom was about 4 years ago.. and it wasn't that severe.

lord o mercy girl... that is one crazy conversation to be havin out in public like that. I'm trying to figure out how I would react to hearing that convo from a stranger... out in a public area... I would, firstly, conclude that you are indeed correct about the problem...

but then feel bad for how you speak to your mother.

Stupid mothers, specifically mine, and their guilt.

Good for you I say. Speak to her however. If she didn't teach you how to talk to her, then it's her fault, no? LOL.
