[Anyone on Bennett's deck might have noticed the incessant snarling, thudding and crashing coming from the end of the hallway. As part of... something like an experiment, he decided to try and go through a transformation and try and keep his mind during it without the use of any painkillers or sedatives

Since he opted to stay in his own room that night, he...basically heard every whine and whimper from across the hall. He knew Ben's transformation had ended. He was TOTALLY on this.
You need bandages? He's got 'em. He brings along some laundry to make a make-shift sling with--admittedly, that's the part that worries him the most.
At first, Ben gets a knock on his door. Then Herz remembers, oh right. The doors are broken, and the occupant is injured. He should just help himself.
...Opening the door reveals wood paneling. Assuming it's just...sending him someplace else, Herz closes the door and tries again. Still wood paneling.
The hell?]

Tell me who it is and I'll move the dresser.
[But until then? He's gonna chill here. He sounds ABSOLUTELY exhausted.]

It--
It's Herz. I can--
I-I can, uh, probably...
[Yupp, a couple shoves and the dresser starts to give, allow him to turn it to one side. He steps in, not realizing just yet he's blocked the way to the bathroom.]

Ben's lying on his side, one arm folded close to his chest and looking... anatomically incorrect. His shoulder is partially out-of-joint, and, well... the boy is kind of slightly entirely naked. And exhausted enough to really just not care. He has managed to drag the sheet off the bed to cover himself, though, spilling some slashed-up pillows across the floor.
The room itself is ashambles, bookshelves are broken, the chair is splintered... there's a sizeable dent in the bathroom door and blood smeared across the tiles in that room where he'd smacked his nose too hard into something.
He makes an effort to lift his head. Fortunately, his nose did heal with his change back.]
Herz.
[Look, you idiot, you actually made him SMILE, how did you do that?]

[Not that he really heard all that much, but that's not the point.]

Kind of... difficult. Sorry.
[For what it's worth, it sounds like his throat's been run over by a truck. He's kind of really not feeling well, you jackass.]

Anyway, you started it.]

I tried... controlling my transformation. Or, or rather... keeping my mind.

Were you successful?

I, I mean... [His voice grows quiet, he's really exhausted.]
I could... I had flashes of control. When the need was... was, dire. When it tried to escape, I was able to throw myself against something to stop it. Hurt myself a lot.
