There was something "missing". I had fun, but it was just not as much fun as before. I was happy to leave Monday morning. In fact, I changed my flight home to an earlier flight so I could hit closing day at my local ren faire. When i got there, I felt "home" again and honestly had more fun than at D*C this year.
I don't do room parties, I don't drink, I love to people watch and that was simply impossible to do this year. Too many people and far too few GOOD costumes. The Marriott was insane and not too many really good times to see the good costumes.
In terms of panels and such, they are getting so spread out between the multiple hotels, you can't easily make it from one to another unless you stick to just one hotel now.
It was hard to meet up with friends, and when you did, the noise level was so intense the opportunity to visit just wasn't the same.
I don't know... with prices going up on everything (and the cost to get there, not to mention the hotel rooms).. is it worth it anymore?
