Am close to finishing the anthology of Stephen Jay Gould's best writing - "The Richness of Life", and it has been a deeply fulfilling read. Gould and Dawkins can both be described as great intellects (though it's a title much abused and too liberally awarded). Dawkins's anger in his prose is directly related to the quantity of books that he sold. Can't go wrong with baser instincts that has mass appeal :)

As for work issues that currently haunt you...the goddess and I are in agreement. Tell them to, erm, sod off. (Although she used slightly more coarse words than I did. Heh.)
