Awww! Ed, learning subterfuge and how to buy jewelry for someone.

Sneaky about the ring and the rest of the jewelry, too. I like it.

It's a good thing for Ed though that the salesman is a real expert able to read Ed's clumsy signals. I've had salesmfolx like that before. (I'm an expert at buying gifts for people with them standing right there and them none the wiser. They get the gift later and go. *Gasp* "I was WITH you when you bought that. I was right there and never even saw you do it!" Hee hee hee. Makes it all the more fun.

I've had salesfolx who could not read the most OBVIOUS GLARING signal either though... those are places that don't get my repeat business if it was important.

That was super-cute! I love Ed for loving his awesome dragon cufflinks. And it's funny to see him learning to be sneaky and charming ('cause we all know he's going to get more like Mustang the older he gets). And I love that Winry is keener to get to the parts store than she is to stay in the jewellery store.

Hell *I* love his awesome dragon cuff links. I love cuff links in general and think it's a style that needs to come back. SOOOOO much classier than buttons. I agree with you about Ed. This version of Ed certainly has grown to respect and like Mustang even if they still swap barbs and banter. Now that he knows Mustang isn't the womanizer he presents, and Edward is an adult himself, he does realize that there are some things he can learn from Mustang about how to treat a lady, and that it doesn't necessarily have to be an act.

I really liked that. It was sweet without being sappy and so very in character. The jeweler being a pro was a nice touch. I loved the Xingian dragons, too.

EE! Edward needed him to be a pro. Otherwise he would never have been able to pull this off. I'm pretty sure he's been in this store before, hahaha. Glad you liked it.

I have lost track of everything I have read in the last few days between this, and fire and ice! Oh and holy shit, this was my prompt!!! Oh I love you even more! Duh! I can honestly say this was done quite different than most people do, they do the whole sappy thing, and yet you did exactly what Edward would do the sneaky little troll! Oh i love it you know it and BTW loved the latest chapter of CTT ( of course I reveiwed it) sorry it took me so long and thank you thank you, you have brightened my new year already ( geeeze now I am geting all sappy) but you of all people know how crappy things have been for me ( heh read the work post I posted today, gah horrible day at work) and you totally caught me by surprise, oh I feel like moron.

Anyway look I am ranting now and awaiting for my writting muse to return, i have terrible writters block that's not letting up.

Thanks again for the best present!

love and huggles

*happy sigh*

I love stories where Edward realizes his feelings on his own and acts on them (probably because I always have people pointing Ed in the right direction while he trips over his own emotions, lol!).

This bit: Edward was quickly learning that Winry was still a girl, and she still liked pretty things. He was also learning that he liked pretty things on her. is my favorite. It says so many things about them!

Ed using subterfuge, who knew such a hot-headed guy would employ it. Guess he has grown up, and I just love him sing his new talents to try to surprise Winry.

Winry's suspicion of him, the reason she opens the bag at all, is also hysterically in character. Because if Ed hadn't been so busy getting jewelry for her, he'd probably have been trying to sneak in the red cufflinks. *G*
