What the hell is going on here? Everyone's starting to look like Ritsuka. And if adults are supposed to have no ears, why do so many adults have them, too

Not really....

Some psycho on my world showed up, spouting a bunch of nonsense... and he had a kid with him. I thought he was a chimera, but apparently it's normal where they're from, for kids to have the ears and tail.

They didn't tell me why, just .... flipped out that I didn't have them. And now I do.

He just kept yelling at me that I was too young to be an adult. The Colonel eventually changed the subject, and started paying more attention to what the other guy was saying.
