Oh this is absolutely wonderful- I love how much life you've breathed into these girls and their friendships and the group spirit that's forged by their work. Everything feels so genuine, and I love this perspective on the events of the finale and the aftermath; ordinary people putting things back together and getting on with their lives. The little mentions of Roy and "Elizabeth" were excellent too *g*

Also I must say it is a huge relief to find at least one other person who disagrees with the fanon that Madame Christmas runs a brothel- I never liked that, or understood where people got the idea from in the first place.

Anyway, this is a really fantastic piece!

This is beautifully written. I love the sense of these women having their own community and culture, and all the details of the world you've built for them. Excellent work!

This is absolutely fantastic! You did a wonderful job rounding out Vanessa and her relationships with all of the other ladies. I love that you gave us ideas of where they went during the Promised Day and what they did, and also how they talk with one another - influenced by their job as informants but also very relational and indicative of their friendship! Madame Christmas's balance between dry sarcasm and genuineness was also so great and fit her very well! (Gotta say I'm totally with you about her having a bar, not a brothel! :D) Also I have to admit I really enjoyed the little cameos we got of Roy and ~Elizabeth~. And the ending was especially wonderful, with them all having fun together and just demonstrating how they aren't just coworkers with a common goal, they really are friends and inexorably part of each others' lives. So great!

Basically this was a 100% excellent read and one I will undoubtedly come back to reread in the future!

Aw, this was lovely, just lovely. Thank you so much for writing it for me, I was hoping for something exactly like this. This is somehow very much how I pictures what goes on behind closed doors at Madame Christmas' club (which is definitely not a brothel, so thanks for that XD)

I love how you really fleshed out Vanessa here; she becomes very much her own and it's such good company, too. I found myself liking her a lot. Her relationships with the other girls are full of warmth and felt very real. The little scenes are so very revealing of their personalities - I liked that the fic is more a collection of moments rather than a story.

And the last scene! So very adorable and magical. (I admit I have a thing about stories about photographs, ha ha). How they agree to give the picture to Madame Christmas. Aw.

And this lovely bit: They don’t talk politics, they talk about food and ice cream tastes, about a book and a new film, about the funfair in the other side of the park. Emily’s red lips have become white from her ice cream and Irene ( ... )
