Angst is looking to be the theme for this week, huh? ;; This is wonderful, though. Gracia can be so brave on the surface, but you know it has to hurt. I particularly like the self-loathing that seems to seep through here at times, like with the nicely-placed f-bomb. Depressing, but very well done!

Thank you! I debated on using the f-bomb, but it just fit perfect imo. Depressing indeed!

Damn Gracia... Maes is spinning in his grave. And shame on you for making little Elysia cry :(

ETA-Great song by the way! Here's a link in case others want to hear it! http://youtu.be/E-62QgzmcDQ

Poor Gracia, I hate to think of Maes' ghost seeing her like that. Poor Elysia, too.

I liked the way you showed how easy it is to be caught by "the little yellow pill" and how rarely it actually helps.

I know some former drug addicts, and although their experiences begin differently (they started out of partying and fun) they all end up the same- consumed by their addiction and helpless to break it because they've grown so weak. It's gonna take a major shake up to get Gracia out of this. I just hope Elysia getting hurt or something isn't what wakes her up. Thanks for reading!

This is so very sad! It makes me realize how little we actually know about Gracia. We hear about her more than we see her in action, and, really, she's not well developed at all. (I don't mean this as a criticism of Arakawa. So many of her characters are very compelling.) Anyway, she MUST have been devastated by Maes' death, and who knows how she coped? Well done.

Thanks! Like you said, we just see glimpses of Gracia. I don't think she'd really fall into addiction like this, but they say addicts are great at hiding their problem, so she might truly be this way, who knows?

Gah poor Gracia! :( Still suffering so long after the loss of her husband. And feeling like she's losing Elysia to school, too. Along with all the guilt for Elysia, and how Elysia must feel. :( I just want to hug them both. Nicely done!
