kedase_derragarSeries: Manga/Brotherhood
Word Count: 250
Rating: PG-13 to R, depending on your sensibilities.
Characters: Mustang, Havoc, and a nurse with a wild imagination.
Summary: A cautionary tale about listening through doorways.
Spoiler Warnings: Chapter 41/Episode 19
Notes: My first attempt at a comedic entry. It was bloody murder getting the formatting to work and paring it down to the word limit, so hopefully it's not too terrible. I hope you enjoy it!
(A NURSE walking down a hospital hallway overhears voices from HAVOC's room. She stops to listen.)
MUSTANG
See? Perfectly hung, just like I told you.
HAVOC
It's crooked.
MUSTANG
What? No it's not.
HAVOC
Yeah it is. Look, it's leaning to the left.
MUSTANG
Maybe your head's crooked, Lieutenant.
HAVOC
(chuckling)
I'm joking, Colonel. I like it. Can I get a closer look?
MUSTANG
Yeah. Here...
(Rustling bedsheets, then creaking.)
MUSTANG
How's that?
HAVOC
It's even better up close. Very impressive. Can I touch it?
MUSTANG
Sure. It's yours.
(The NURSE leans closer to the door.)
HAVOC
Damn, that's nice. Have to say, I never thought you'd pick up on the hints I was dropping. You don't seem the type.
MUSTANG
I have to do something to keep my men happy. I was going to let you have it in the office, but... I'm sorry, Havoc. I failed. But I still need you.
HAVOC
Bullshit, Colonel. You didn't fail, you saved my ass. You didn't need to do this.
MUSTANG
I want to. I need to, to be sure you'll still be there.
HAVOC
I'll always be here when you need me, Colonel.
(More creaking and rustling. The NURSE gasps and throws the door open. An ornate Xingese scroll hangs from the wall. MUSTANG is helping HAVOC back into bed from a wheelchair. Both stare at her.)
NURSE
Sorry! Wrong room!
(The NURSE bolts, slamming the door behind her.)
HAVOC
Huh. So... Have time for a quickie?
(The lock clicks.)
