Any suggestions from anyone on writing great personal statements?

The best advice I have is mention how your past and current experiences led you to where you want to go in the future and cite specific examples.

For example, in my "Statement of Professional Goals" for my application to Suffolk, I explained how I came to wanting to be a therapist through my language study. I basically said, "I eventually realized that what so interested me about teaching languages was the desire to teach a new form of self-expression," and then I expanded on that.

Thanks. I'm plowing through all that now.

Avoid telling them what you want too much. Focus on describing previous experience and skills that would make you valuable to them.

(also, totally unrelated - have you gotten a hotel room for the wedding reception yet? I want to make reservations in the next day or two and was wondering if maybe you (and maybe Nick) wanted to split a room)

Hey Jami!

I found a Motel 6 about 5 minutes from Liz's parents home. It has two queen sized beds and costs $84, and I could sleep on the floor, I have a really good sleeping bag.

But I haven't been able to get in contact with Nick. I tried the number I have, but the phone just rang once then nothing. This has happened a couple times. Have you had any luck?

Hi, sorry for being unavailable, but my cell phone is missing. The best way to reach me right now is my email address, nkosky@gmail.com.

I'd be interested in traveling up with you guys. Should be a lot of fun.
