Greetings 2012.

So far: kinda sucky. All for work related reasons, except for the one about someone I know being a git.

But I'm not looking to the past......7 days? Oh lord this is gonna be a long month......I'm looking back at my favourite films from last year. All are my opinion, and some are generally based on how much I enjoyed myself watching ( Read more... )

I really do need to write up my thoughts on X-Men: First Class. That movie filled me with much squee and the occasional "wait... what?"

The main problem with it was a rushed ending, I do agree with that.

I think that because X-Men 3 and Wolverine weren't too well received they didn't believe First Class would get a sequel so put the betrayel/divorce scene in this one. If we could have gotten a full trilogy with Magneto leaving at the end of that, that wopuld have been perfect. But alas.

Also they're not really clear about how much time passes during the events of the film. Seems like 2 weeks sometimes, but I'm pretty sure at the same time that can't be right.

Heh, well, the reason X3 and Wolverine weren't well received is because they sucked. X-Men: First Class did not suck. It is, in fact, a movie fully worth watching! For the most part I was pleasantly surprised, as I suspect a lot of other people were.

Yeah, definately.

One internet reviewer I watch hated the previous X-Men films, even the good ones, but he really liked this with the exception of Emma Frost.

If they could just keep the involvement of Matthew Vaughn as director/writer (I still need to watch Layer Cake to have watched all his films) and Bryan Singer as producer, I think any First Class sequel could keep the good times going.
