Ick. Oh, I know what you mean. I always wonder, too, what the authors think of their book being marketed as another Meyer-esque book. I, uh, know a lot of authors who don't think much of her work and the sad reality is writers dont have any power over marketing decisions.
This is true, hence I might well still read the book.
It's like with comics when they have a quote from Joss Whedon on the back of the TPB to make it seem uber cool.
And with DVDs if I see a star rating from HEAT magazine or THE SUN newspaper then that doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the film's quality for me when I'm just looking at the boxes, but both Whip It and Stardust, films I really like and are very good, have such things on them.
