Existential Crisis: VOLVMEN SECVNDVM

Ahh so here I be.  Yes I'm still alive for those wondering, no I haven't kept up with my New Years Resolution, and I still am at stage one.  The reasoning behind all this is simple.  in regards to the first issue, I am in good health and haven't done anything tremendously stupid enough to get myself killed yet; as to the second, my anxiety and ( Read more... )

Awesome, dude! I wholly support this.

(... and I'd completely support consorting with homosexuals, but that goes without saying!)

I've been doing a good deal of life-thinkin' lately myself, so I sympathise with your plight.

I always answered the question "What do you want to be when you grow up?" with one word: Happy.

I don't know what your favorite medium is but why not try a web comic? Some people even manage to make a living off them.

Anyhow, best of luck, and enjoy your passion.

Awesome. And I get that whole 'what do you want to be when you grow up' dilemma. I was a few months into law school when my crisis hit.

This whole Japan earthquake/ tsunami/ imminent nuclear meltdown situation is going to be rife with volunteer opportunities. Besides helping people, it is the type of experience that gives you great perspective on your own life, as well as plenty of opportunities to draw. (I have a friend who volunteered in Mississippi after Katrina and it was a life changing experience for her.)

I hadn't considered volunteer work before, It's something to think about, but right now I feel like I've taken so much time and wasted it I feel hesitant to do anything other than jump right into my hopefully new career decision

I wouldn't recommend pursuing a career in education right now to anyone. There are no jobs. Those of us who have them are fearful of layoffs. There is a definite anti-teacher sentiment these days. Don't get me wrong, I love what I do, but it is just not a good time to go into the field.

If what you really want is to write and draw, by all means go after it. Follow you dream.
