Year of the Rat SUX! :(
My horoscope for this year said it's going to be a bad year. We'll make $, but people will try to swindle all of our $. We might get in trouble w/ the law, etc.

that sucks about the hall. why do they think you need a nicer place?
do you want a nicer place or are you happy with the one that you got? in the end it's your wedding and no one can force you to change the location. you'll probably just have to put up wtih a lot of nagging, but a couple of months after the wedding, no one will even remember where it was held!
maybe just try to keep them out of the wedding planning process? and have more supportive people go with you to the hall for decoration ideas and stuff?
did you do your invitations yet? you can always say that you ordered the invitations and you can't change the reception place?

yah, i heard the year of the rat is terrible for a lot of people. 2 of my frens are putting off their wedding till next year. my nephew broke fell and had to get stitches.
