Summary: Their love for one another burned like the setting sun, all they needed was the courage to confess.
He watched as the orange hews of sunset playfully tickled the man’s high cheekbones, eyes unable to stray away from the plump lips that lay beneath them.
He knew that it was wrong, that he shouldn’t be feeling the warmness that radiated from the pit of his stomach all the way up to his heart, nor should he be hearing the pounding in his ears as a sly tongue came out to give those cherry blossom lips a quick lick.
But he couldn’t help himself, couldn’t stop his body from reacting this way.
Lingering just a little longer on the man’s lips, he took a deep breath and forced himself to divert his gaze somewhere else… any where besides the perfect man that sat before him.
However, this attempt was fruitless as the scrap of a chair resonated throughout the room, making him look up in surprise and instantly regretting it.
A smile that was full of suspicion and amusement crossed the angel’s face as he looked down at Kazuya, the smile widening even further when the man down casted his eyes in an averting gesture.
Bending his slender body downwards with both thumbs locked casually in his jean pockets, he whispered out teasingly, “Kame, were you just ogling me?”
Kazuya’s eyes widened in surprise at the claim, whipping his head upwards to look up at Jin in bewilderment.
“Wha-you…”
Seeing Jin raise an eyebrow at his reaction, Kazuya quickly turned his head to the side and mumbled, “I have no idea what you are talking about…”
Grinning, Jin said slowly, “Is that so… Then why were you looking my way just now?”
“I…I was just… wanting to close the blinds… yeah, that’s it. But you were sitting there so contently… watching the sun set, that I decided not to bother to tell you to move…” Kazuya said, nodding his head at Jin whilst talking, as if that would confirm his statement and make it more believable, although it sounded fake even to himself.
Eyes crinkling with humor at the adorable reply, Jin said, “Ah, I see…”
Wanting to change the topic quickly, Kazuya cleared his throat and hurriedly said, “So… why were you sitting there anyways? Aren’t you afraid that the manager-san will scold you for possibly ruining your skin by getting a tan?”
Leaning against the table with his back to Kazuya, Jin let out a small chuckle and shook his head, his long colored locks of hair falling into his distant eyes as he looked down at his feet.
Furrowing his eyebrows in confusion at Jin’s silence, Kazuya whispered out with concern, “Jin… is everything… okay?”
Turning his head slightly to the side, Jin gave Kazuya a glance that was full of bitter remorse and sorrow, the humorous light twinkle in his eyes nowhere to be seen.
“No, Kame… nothing is okay… nothing…”
Getting up from his seat, Kazuya laid a gentle hand on Jin’s shoulder, trying to ignore the way his fingers ached and burned to touch more of the man.
“Jin……?”
Turning his melancholic eyes towards Kazuya, Jin whispered out, “Kame, do you enjoy living this kind of lifestyle? Enclosed by the pressure that surrounds us?”
Kazuya understood what Jin meant immediately because all them, Kat-tun, NEWS, Hey!Say!Jump… the entire Johnny Entertainment members felt the same way, couldn’t stop the constant worries that clouded their minds day in and day out.
To be cornered by the paparazzi, which could possibly lead to scandalous stories, and thus, falling from popularity, was just one of the many fears that they had.
Not to mention the endless expectations that the company had for them, to try and beat the “Rising Gods of the East” from Korea on the Oricon charts and fair well in sales when it came to promoting a new CD…
But the one thing that Kazuya had lost sleep over for the past few months… no, not just months, but years perhaps… was the fiery attraction he had for the man standing just inches away from him.
At first, he had thought of it as a form of hatred towards the member who seemed to be so arrogant, yet unbelievably beautiful.
However, as time went on, Kazuya slowly realized that the heated emotions he had inside of him wasn’t hatred, but in fact, affection.
It truly puzzled, and perhaps even frustrated, him to find out that he held such forbidden feelings for one of the group members.
But try as he might, he couldn’t get rid of the thoughts and feelings that rode inside of him like a dangerous tsunami, threatening to spill over every time Jin looked at him or brushed his arm gently against his own.
And it became increasingly hard as time went on and their job required them to act “friendly” with one another, taking photo shoots with their bodies in promising positions, sometimes even doing shots that required them to kiss (although not touching, but close enough so that it drove him crazy) for fan service.
However, he knew that Jin was not referring to his enclosed feelings but the pressure that hung
heavy amongst them.
“Of course I hate it, Jin… we all do. But we have no choice; this is the path we chose to walk down… ever since we stepped into the entertainment industry, our freedom was already taken away from us… and we knew that we would have to act accordingly, so as not to ruin our images-“
“Yes, I understand this too, but that only applies to the outside world… why do you have to hide yourself from me too?” Jin cut in fiercely, his eyes locking onto Kazuya’s with pure determination and a hint of sorrow.
Slightly taken aback by the unexpected spew, Kazuya’s hand fell softly back to his side as he took one step backwards, eyes wide as he gave Jin a startled look.
“Wh-What do you mean? I’m not… hiding from you…”
Kazuya tried to swallow because his throat had suddenly become too dry for his liking as Jin took one step forward, eyes still holding onto his.
“Kame, you know exactly what I am talking about… how long were you planning to keep it a secret? Huh? Did you even think, for one second, about how I feel?” Jin pressed on, his face only inches away from Kazuya’s.
“Jin, I don’t under-“
Taking Kazuya by the shoulders, Jin looked down at the slightly shorter man and breathed out, “Kame, don’t mess with me, I’m already at my wits end. Do you like me or not?”
Kazuya looked up at Jin, his mind a messy jumble as he felt Jin’s hot breath smother over his frozen face.
Finally processing what Jin had just said to him, Kazuya opened up his mouth to say something, but ended up gaping instead, his heart leaping up to his throat.
He knows? But how…? No, he couldn’t possibly mean… Kazuya thought to himself.
They stayed in that position for quite a while, Kazuya pressed up against the wall with his black wifebeater clenched in Jin’s fists, the room deathly quiet except for the soft breathing that came from the two men.
Realizing that Kazuya wasn’t going to answer him, Jin let go of his grip on the man, turning around and weaving his fingers through his hair whilst letting out a heavy sigh.
“Whatever. Just forget it… I’m… I’m sorry. I don’t know what happened just now… I guess I said something really stupid…”
Before he could even process what he was doing, Kazuya was already drowning within Jin’s fragrant soft dark chocolate brown locks of hair, his arms wrapped tightly around the man’s shoulders and drawing him into his chest.
“No… Jin, you aren’t stupid… I’m the one who is stupid… I’m sorry for keeping you in the dark for so long… but I was afraid… I was scared about how you would react when I told you… how awkward it would be if you didn’t like m- like what I had to say to you… But I can’t take it any longer, and even
if you don’t accept me… even if my heart breaks into a thousand pieces… I have to tell you…”
Kazuya said softly into Jin’s ear, closing his eyes as he tried to memorize the feel of Jin’s warm back against his chest and the man’s fragrant lavender shampoo scent, knowing that this was probably the last chance he would have to hold the man in such an intimate embrace.
“Tell me what?” Jin whispered out, his face and emotions hidden from Kazuya’s view.
Taking a deep breath, Kazuya told himself to continue, to say what he had to say since he had already stepped into the grave he had made for himself.
“That… that I… love you.” Kazuya finally said with much difficulty, gradually releasing his hold on Jin’s slender body and distancing himself slightly from the man in fear of his reaction.
But instead of looking at Kazuya in disgust or disbelief like he expected, Jin shoulders shook slightly, his head hung low.
“J-Jin?” Kazuya asked uncertainly, lightly touching Jin’s shaking shoulders in concern.
Finally lifting his head upwards up to look at Kazuya, Jin surprised the man for the umpteenth time that day.
Tears brimmed at the corners of his eyes like tiny crystals, shimmering against the radiant sunlight that flowed into the darkening room.
“Wh-what you just said… is it… really… true? Don’t play around with me, Kame…” Jin asked in a
quivering voice, his fingers shaking slightly as he held onto Kazuya’s arm.
“Yes… it’s true… every single last word of it… And I would never play around with you, Jin… you know I’m not that type of guy…” Kazuya said gently, thumbing away a fallen tear from Jin’s face as the man closed his eyes.
“Good.” Jin said, his dark eyelashes fluttering against his pale complexion as he opened his eyes to look at Kazuya once more. “Because I would beat you to the pulp if you were to get my hopes up then break my heart to pieces by saying you were only joking…”
Staring at Jin as the man’s words finally sunk in, Kazuya found that words failed to describe how happy he felt.
So instead, he palmed both sides of the man’s face and pulled him in for a passionate kiss, one that burned like fire on his lips but tasted sweeter than anything he had ever eaten before.
And the feeling of Jin’s soft plump lips pressed up against his own… it was the greatest feeling he had ever felt in his life, an instant addiction that had him wanting more.
He wasn’t the only one enjoying it though.
Jin seemed to also feel the same way he did, drawing Kazuya closer, his lips hungrily ravishing the
other’s, his hands roaming the soft contours of Kazuya’s back and slyly slithering further downwards.
“Mm!~”
The breathless moan seemed to excite Jin, making him kiss Kame harder, faster, their tongues intertwining as their bodies melted as one.
“Mhmm… Kame…”
“J-Jin… M-more...”
“We're home!~ Guess what we got for dinner? Unagi-Holy shit!” Koki’s voice came from the door, making the two lovers look up in surprise.
“Oh. My. God. Are you two like… having table smex now?” Yuichi added from the side, his mouth opening in a big “O” shaped.
“Seems like someone is having dessert rather early… well, I guess that means more Unagi for me!~” Junnosuke said cheerfully as he walked past the stunned couple, swinging the bag of groceries as he made his way into the kitchen.
“Lemme help you, Jun.” Tatsuya said quietly, shuffling his way obediently behind Junnosuke.
Ignoring the two, Yuichi ran towards the two frozen men and said with eyes wide open, “So… have you guys done it yet?
“Waaaiiittt!~ You guys continue making out, I’m gonna go grab my camcorder!~ Then I’m gonna post it on the Akame community!~ Woohoo!~” Koki yelled out excitedly as he ran into his room.
Sighing, Kazuya palmed his face in his hand and said, “See? This is why I envy solo singers…”
