So the doctor says this, and it's no where near as bad as I was trying not to worry. I have an amoeba in my digestive system called Dientamoeba fragilis. Not so fragile apparently... I'm on heavy antibiotics until the 29th. And... they're described as "anti-alcohol." It was less of a "do not drink alcohol" and more of a "DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL ( Read more... )

I'm on some antibiotics now and suffered through partying with my partner on his last day of exams, going to a party at my prof's house for my program, going out with a bunch of people in my program to a pub, all sober. It bothered me too that I was so uncomfortable not drinking.

It feels wierd because I know that before I didn't feel so dependant on it. I never needed it to be comfortable in those situations. Even if everyone else was drinking and I wasn't.

My mom would wake me up to take antibiotics so I could take the reccomended 4/day. I can't say I was very grateful.

21 doesn't seem very grand to me, mostly because there's no new priviledges.

:P I think I did that when I was really sick when I was younger... Recently it's involved me staying up an hour or two longer than I'd like to so I don't do a 7-5-12 kind of thing.

I'm not sure why 21 is such a big deal... It might be a piece of US culture in my mind. I dunno. It's not really feeling too big right now.

I was a heavy drinker in my mid-teens as a result of tough-life-crap and bad coping skills. When I decided to pick up my life and put it back together, stopped drinking. It is hard to be with people who are drinking when you are sober. The thing I hate the most is that people tend to get irked if you act a bit uninhibited without the excuse for alcohol. I want to know, why can't I be as dumb as the rest of you without intoxicants? Oh well. It means I mostly avoid drinking situations unless there's other non-drinking people around. Now that I'm a teetotler, it makes me intensely uncomfortable to be around a lot of drunk people. I figure if I can't have just as much fun at an event sober as I could drunk, I might as well stay home.

It's true! Through my teens I did plenty of acting silly without alcohol. My observation when everyone except me and a few others started drinking was that the same level of silly was achieved a lot sooner. I got really frustrated by my group in Indonesia when they refused to just have fun dancing because they were too insecure to do it without booze. I learned to dance in club situations and such completely sober, and I prefer to be that way in club situations because it allows me to keep my wits about me.

It's true though... if I don't drink, then so many of the activities with my peers become... less accessible. I really want to think about this.

aie! d. fragilis! everytime someone complains of a stomachache it's what my mothers points to as the culprit and we've never had it.

I would of liked to have gone to the party, bryce said he'd lend me a book a while ago and I wanted to ask him about it. And I didn't even know rianne was in town! I guess people have their reasons.

? That's interesting. It's possibly passed by contact with feces, eh?

The biggest one probably being Alex is forgetful. Carla found out a couple hours in and had to call Keith to find out the details. It's really sad that you weren't told too.

What are you doing tomorrow and could you make it in tomorrow afternoon?

meep. I always thought it was just unwashed food.

Meh, I forgot to tell 'the guys' that a party I had once was on the following weekend because I didn't put it on the invite. I can see how it happens.

Tommorow being the thursday? nothing much, so probably. I don't know if one of my vehicle's battery is dead or not though. I'll know later tonight.

My "I'm a doctor's kid" instinct tells me that 7-7-10 is perfectly acceptable. When I was on anti-biotics, I'd sleep 12 hours in a night with no break and still take my 3 a day just whenever I ate. And I think I survived?
My advice would be not to worry about it too much. Milk rocks, and the anxiety is probably much worse for you than the 7-7-10.
