You rock!! You said that so eloquently too!! That is just terrible for your friend and her story. It has to be heartbreaking to have someone take your words like that. :(

I agree it is not hard for someone to credit another person. I think on the internet people feel they have rights to everything. I believe that's why a lot of people don't share with people anymore. Sad.

The thing that was weird about her story was that it had this "go ahead and repost" disclaimer "but DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING and leave the disclaimer IN"

And this person left her by-line and the disclaimer BUT changed the names of the Characters and other details AND posted it in a forum that does not allow stories with the rating this one had. It was NC-17 and had EXPLICIT sex in it. Fanfiction.net doesn't allow that.

Why would someone put a story, with the original author's name on it and a DON'T mess with this disclaimer and MESS WITH IT? I got no damned clue. Its just totally bizarre. And on a forum that prohibits very explicit adult stories?

And taking art? Just NO. It's just wrong.

Oh and in the nature of going and CREDITING THINGS. The background of my Beckitude=Awesome avatar is courtesy of the Marvelous Kel from the Skeesai galleries ... Go here http://skeesai.smugmug.com/

to see the most incredibly amazingly hot men (Esai Morales and Skeet Ulrich, although Mr. Morales is so many degrees hotter...its amazing my computer doesn't catch fire.)

Thank you Kel for the blank canvas for me to acknowledge how Magnificent that MAN IS.
