That it shouldn't be able to fly because it's so aerodynamically awkward but does anyway, because it doesn't *know* that it can't
*laughing* Ok, that makes me love Self more. Thank you.
Fascinating choice of words. Not 'beat me,' not 'got away from me' but 'got *TO* me.'
Yes! I didn't really parse why the way he put that sentence together made me so happy (beyond the fact that it's...it's kind of flirty in a way, even though Michael isn't even THERE he's still thinking of him in that way), but the "got TO me" bit is reeeeeally interesting.
And now I'm envisaging fic where Michael is talking to Alex but pretending to whoever's holding him captive that it's Sara, and under this 'cover', gets to say all manner of stuff that makes Alex's head explode
!! Now I'm envisioning that fic, too, and it's fantastic.
never bully the new employee, you never know when they're going to turn out to be a wandering homicidal maniac.
Good advice, really.
I guess when you want to believe something that badly, you look for absolutely

he never really internalised the potential consequences of all this - that he was more like a kid playing a video game
I can see that. I thought it might be that he just didn't understand the Company, except he must, if he's risking all of this to go after them. So I think it's more like you say, that he never really faced the reality of the consequences until Wyatt.
I noted Alex had no answer to his 'what would you have done?'
I noted that, too! But Sara was right, really: Alex would do what needed to be done to get the job done. (Though I think that if Michael were in jail and he didn't need Michael to finish it, he would have rescued Michael, too, when it became clear he was in immediate danger.)
'Look -- I just wanted to say that I love you. You know that, right? I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. You understand what I'm saying, yes? I love you.'
