Awww that brings back memories of my own! Tokyo is just so much fun, isn't it? You're right about the medicine part. I was told (when I was sick) that any actual medicine, besides cough drops, have to be prescribed before you can get it. I ended up getting a member card at a clinic in Shinjuku. Sorry to hear you were sick at that time.
