His knuckles are bruised, she notices dimly. He's bleeding on the table. And it could be any of those times before. It could be a few times after that she's missed.
"Good night?" she asks, sharp, cutting, "you've had the time of your life?"
Everytime I've dreamed of this moment, no one writes songs about. There is something wrong with the words, but he's the one good with his tongue. She's good with the running away.
"Apart from being inside you, the best." low.
She flushes because he always does this. He grins. It could be twelve with her knee-socks, but he's dirtier and she can't be twelve.
His hand brushes hers, she pulls hers back, abruptly.
She can feel his fingerprints all over her, inside her. It is after summer then. The second summer. She knows the line of his chest against her mouth. She knows the weight of a loaded gun and fury.
In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt. She doesn't know why summer is their time

EEEEP, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! Such a sharp, unique and unflinching portrait of Veronica:
She does not ask questions she does not know the answer to.
What a great take on her nature. And you hit on so so so many of my favorite things with these two, especially summer being their ~time and the dizzying and cyclical nature of their relationship to one another. Like, they’re not always “with” each other, often they're not together, but still, they always sort of are.
She is the after. He is the middle and the going back. That is sad.
It truly is, and is one of many reasons why I ship it, lol.
He walks away, slow, measured; doesn't look back. She knows because she does.
I AM GLAD IT WORKED FOR YOU. I am the worst at prompts, I end up writing and then spend all my time agonizing about how it doesn't fit at all.
But seriously though, I kind of searched this whole post for Logan/Veronica prompts, I can't seem to stop writing them, so thank you for that, lol.
Veronica's fast becoming a favorite POV of mine. Earlier I was all "will not touch her with a twenty-foot pole, flawless goddess etc." but now I just want to write her all the time.
ALSO, YES, those are my favorite things about them as well, and why I ship it so hard, especially the cyclical nature of their being together and basically every single one of their other relationships being informed by the Logan-and-Veronica dynamic. I saw VM a month back for the first time, so, yeah, obsessive right now, haha.

you can't save anyone | veronica mars | veronica; veronica/logan | 1/2
i exist in two places
here, and where you are.
i.
It takes her about thirteen minutes into a bottle of scotch to realize this is a bad idea.
“Veronica Mars,” he drawls out her name, “keeping the memory of your mum alive?”
He’s drunk too, obviously.
“What do you want Logan.” it is not a question. She does not ask questions she does not know the answer to.
She doesn’t mean to sound. Tired.
He looks at her far too long. She looks away first. She doesn’t mean to do that either.
ii.
If she’s judging the day by the things he says, she doesn’t know what time-frame they’re in.
It could be now; it could be two years before. It could be all the times in between.
I think I loved you.
She wouldn’t have dared to love before Lilly. Or during Lilly.
Oh, Lilly. There’s a bright, flaring ache in the center of her chest. It’s after Lilly, then ( ... )
