Doris. This is crazy. When I first prompted, I almost, almost added something like 'bonus if you give me carsex' because that's what I associate with this song. But then I didn't because I thought I shouldn't push my luck, since I'd be lucky to even get somebody to fill the prompt. AND THEN YOU DID. YOU DID AND YOU FUCKING GAVE ME CARSEX??? I'm out and on my phone now and you will get a prettier response later. Just came to say that of course I remembered your "it's only forever right?" and not just that, it was also the first scene I actually knew I wanted in this fic as soon as I began writing it :)

So the first three lines. I am dead already. Like, what. The blue pickup, it being midnight, the wind, the dress, they've done this before, Caroline's pose, Elena's one suitcase. What. What. What. The imagery is freaking killing me. I don't know what it is about the clichéd aspect that works so well with the two of them, but it fits. Perfectly. Maybe because they are both okay with being normal. It's so naturally artificial. I really love it.

(Caroline's trunk is full of luggage, because Caroline never leaves things behind. There's a ring in her purse that Matt made her out of paper the day she left Mystic Falls. There's the bracelet Klaus bought and the earrings Tyler bought and she still has the scarves she wore when Damon used to -- when Damon used to fuck her.)

Everyone looks nicer in her head, the way she chooses to remember them.

When Elena finally gets to the trunk, she sets the suitcase down and begins rummaging through her purse. She takes out a pack of cigarettes

Who wouldn't be in love with your happy, giggly, smiling Elena? She is hypnotic.

AND THIS OMG : Elena keeps up with the beat, and Caroline keeps up with Elena. (That's how it's always been.) COMPLETE INCOHERENCE IN MY MIND.

Elena traces her fingers up and down Caroline's bare arms, lightly, but never breaking contact.
Unnngg this. So sensual. The tension is so palpable and yet ever soft and loving. (These two, seriously.)

AND THE GRINDING OMG SO HOT. Agressive!Elena is always sexy but here she is a goddess. And still tender? I don't even know how to deal with you, tbh.

Then Elena parts her lips (Caroline can feel that, Caroline can feel everything now, the slightest disturbance of air near her skin) and kisses her neck lightly and Caroline moans as Elena's hand swiftly finds its way to her
