It just kind of felt right to mention the tattoos in there; to me, Ronon is just such a physical, living-in-the-moment character a lot of the time that I can't imagine him wanting to keep a diary that could be lost or stolen or destroyed. I think some of his tats are a record of his wraith kills, though, and I think that's something he's still (justifiably) proud of.
