Not being bridezilla was nice, although a few of my friends seemed alarmed at the concept that a woman could be
a. ambivalent about the historical connotations of various traditions, and
b. not really interested in having more than a large interesting party with booze. My frequently expressed sentiments that as long as loads of people turned up, there was a bar, and I looked fucking awesome, there was little to it, were apparently missing the point. As someone who had not been planning her wedding (or to ever get married) even before meeting said prospective husband, I found this amusing. Also slightly annoying.
Having said that, our families totally got it.
May I recomment offbeatbride as an interesting site where you get to look at good pictures of people doing mental things for weddings. And also just cool fun stuff, obv.
