Australia Day

Tomorrow is Australia Day.  I realise I've been neglecting this journal somewhat, but tonight I am in the mood for writing.  We've been here nearly a year now (just another 3 weeks), and we have been changed by the experience.  In that year's time we have bought a house, made new friends, and started to tentatively set roots down in this new life

You have already started a family, you know. Two people becoming one in that mysterious way. Making a home and welcoming people is something you can do now.

R and I are trying for a baby. It's taking longer than I expected and my heart hurts too. But reminding myself that 2 is a family helps me stay hopeful as we try to make it 3.
