If I hadn't picked up on the cues that this would have a happy Fluffy ending, I have to say I would have been a little nervous that Gareth was Angel's new boyfriend. I mean, he's totally his type! But as it is, I'm glad he made a new human friend. Interesting back story! And you took his sense of taste, so there's sacrifice in there. (He's taking it well but boy do I feel pain for him.)
Before that though I was also worried when I got to the Dawn part, because I saw the pattern of Buffy talking to someone else each year and for some reason I thought it was only going to be four parts long, which would me no reunion with Angel. Of course you wouldn't do that to me! Loved "Don't sleep with him." And Willow getting back together with Oz. And the entire conversation with Giles. (GIIILES I LOVE YOU.) Even right at the beginning, finally connecting with Xander on matters of love...gah, this was such a great story. Just what I needed. A winner is you!

(I actually got the sense of taste thing from my dad, whose tonsils grew back when he was 33, so he lost his sense of taste after the second operation. And because I couldn't figure out how to stick in a detailed description of all of Angel's injuries, "no taste" seemed like a very human, easy to understand option. Also I found it really funny to imagine Xander whining about how he lost an eye and poor Angel has a broken tongue ( ... )

Aw, your poor dad! Whenever I hear about that condition (or anything like it), I feel all sad about broken tongues and wonder which sense I could most easily give up.
Oh! I knew I saw a word implying "four" somewhere. :) All turned out well!

The detail you put into Buffy's connections with the people in her life is brilliant.
Love this line (revelation) when sipping tea with Giles.
However, I do feel there was a depth of love between the two of you that I regret not being able to appreciate at the time.”
Buffy wants to fold in on herself or run away, but she forces herself to sit. A chasm of grief reopens within her, as it does every year on this day. She forces back the actual tears, but her voice sounds small and sad and aching anyway. “I don’t think I was able to appreciate it either.”
My heart ached for Buffy so.
Wonderful quadruple rosebud.
Thank you

I always like to do the angsty journey and understanding piece before I give them the happy ending. And I really liked branching out to the other core Buffy characters here- trying to expand my horizons past just Buffy and Angel.
I'm so glad you enjoyed this. Thank you for the comment!!

And they're in my Wales at the end there, which is kind of awesome!
I shall adopt this as my fluffy post-everything canon :)
